The BUSO-179 control unit works as part of the weapons stabilizer 2Э36-1 on the principle of a proportional integral-derivative controller, processes signals from gyroscope sensors of а traverse drive (ТО) and an elevation drive (ED), from the commander’s and operator’s control panels along with the target designation device, and generates error output signals that are proportional to weapons deviation relative to the target in horizontal and vertical planes.
The BUSO-179 unit also implements а necessary switching of discrete control signals with voltage levels of 27 V onboard mains.
The unit is designed to work in harsh operating conditions; it has high shock and vibration resistance and strength.
The unit is installed in combat vehicles ВМР-2 and BMD-2 in weapons stabilization systems – a dual mount of a 2A42 gun and a PKT machine gun.
It is designed to replace the standard control unit PB2.390.179-01 of the stabilization system 2Э36-1.
